Hokie ClubCHARLOTTE, N.C. – Forward/midfielder Alex Perez was named the ACC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Perez recorded four points (one goal and two assists) in Virginia Tech’s 4–2 win at Duke over the weekend. His contributions helped the Hokies earn their first win against Duke since Nov. 1, 2019. Tech’s four goals were the most it has ever scored in the series and marked the first time since 2020 that the Hokies scored more than one goal in a match against Duke.
The Las Vegas native leads the conference with five assists and matched his career high for assists in a season during the win. Perez also ranks third nationally in assists per game (0.83) and sixth in total assists.
The Hokies resume non-conference play Tuesday evening, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m. against Queens (N.C.). The match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
