CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Anna Weir has been named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
The senior recorded the first multi-goal game of her career with a hat trick at William & Mary on Thursday. Weir recorded the 15th hat trick in program history, becoming the 13th Hokie to achieve the feat.
Weir also played a major role in Tech’s 2-1 win over No. 22 Georgetown with an assist on the game-winning goal. The win marked the Hokies’ first ranked win since Nov. 24, 2024, over No. 17 Iowa in the Sweet 16.
This is the first time Weir has won an ACC weekly award. She is the first Hokie to win ACC Offensive Player of the Week since Taylor Bryan in 2022.
Virginia Tech (4-0-2) travels to Penn State (2-1-1) on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised on B1G+.
