BLACKSBURG – With September blowing in, Virginia Tech baseball head coach John Szefc released the Hokies’ fall 2026 schedule on Tuesday, highlighting an early October exhibition in Fredericksburg against its ACC in-state rival.
Beginning with intrasquad play in September, Virginia Tech will open its fall slate with its annual Fall World Series, consisting of three games at English Field – Game 1 (Wednesday, Sept. 23), Game 2 (Friday, Sept. 25) and Game 3 (Monday, Sept. 28). Start times between Maroon and Orange are scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
Moving into October, Virginia Tech will contest a fall exhibition against Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 3, in Fredericksburg at Virginia Credit Union Stadium (home of the Fredericksburg Nationals, the Single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals). First pitch between the Hokies and the Cavaliers is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.
Rounding out its fall competitive schedule, Virginia Tech will host a pair of exhibitions at English Field against National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) programs. The Hokies will host Florence-Darlington Tech on Friday, Oct. 16, as well as Walters State Community College on Thursday, Oct. 22 – both scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.
Florence-Darlington Tech is coming off its fourth consecutive 50-win season, having reached the 2026 NJCAA Division I East District championship series. Walters State posted a 53-13 record during its spring campaign, advancing to its second straight NJCAA Division I World Series.
Virginia Tech's fall exhibition games may vary in length and format from traditional nine-inning contests at the discretion of coaching staffs.
