Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech will welcome Gardner-Webb to Lane Stadium on August 26, 2028, rounding out the Hokies’ 2028 non-conference schedule, which also features home dates against Liberty on Sept. 2 and Notre Dame on Nov. 4. With seven home games on the schedule for the third time since 2020, Hokie Nation will have seven opportunities to enjoy the energy and excitement of the Virginia Tech Gameday Experience.
The matchup against Gardner-Webb will mark the first meeting between Virginia Tech and the Runnin’ Bulldogs. Kickoff time, television designation and ticket information for the game will be announced at a later date.
The Hokies are scheduled to open the 2026 season next week against VMI on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m. under the lights in front of a sellout crowd at Lane Stadium. Limited tickets remain throughout the 2026 season to catch the Hokies in action as James Franklin begins his inaugural season on the sidelines in Blacksburg.
