CLEARWATER, Fla. – For the first time since 2023, Virginia Tech softball has been invited to the Shrine Children’s Clearwater Invitational (Feb. 18-21) at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Fla.

One of the most highly-regarded tournaments in college softball, Tech joins 10 other elite teams in the field. The full schedule will be released in November.

Tech competes at the Clearwater for the third time in program history (2020, 2023). Tech has gone 5-5 at the Clearwater Invitational and most recently went 3-2 in 2023 with wins against Minnesota, Northwestern and South Carolina.

The Hokies return a majority of their starting lineup from the 2026 season – a year that saw the Hokies go 48-12 and advance to the ACC Championship for the first time since 2012. First Team All-ACC honorees Bree Carrico and Jordan Lynch return for Tech, alongside NFCA All-Region honorees Nora Abromavage, Michelle Chatfield, Addison Foster and Emma Mazzarone.
