Hokie ClubBLACKSBURG – Six Virginia Tech student-athletes have been selected to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team, as announced by the organization Tuesday.
Representing four different Hokie programs, the honorees were recognized for their academic excellence and impact within their respective sports. The VaSID Academic All-State Team honors student-athletes from across the Commonwealth who have excelled both in competition and in the classroom.
Virginia Tech’s selections include Kylie Aldridge (softball), Valentine Delon (women's golf), Nate Paris (track & field), Mariana Pestana (track & field), Chiara Sistermann (track & field) and Carleigh Wenzel.
To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be sophomores or higher and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Thirty-six colleges and universities across Virginia nominated six student-athletes to form the 215-member all-state team.
