LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Virginia Tech track and field team concluded its regular season Wednesday at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier.
Conner McClure won the men’s pole vault with a clearance of 5.50 meters (17 feet, 5.75 inches), while Erin Kelleher captured the women’s title with a collegiate-best 4.27m (14 feet). Kelsey Lovercheck also reached a postseason qualifying mark, clearing 3.92m (12 feet, 10.25 inches).
Ben Reynolds captured his first victory of the season in the men’s 1,500 meters with a time of 3:46.69. On the women’s side, Jeorgiana Gavalas finished second in 4:23.42, followed by Elizabeth Coe in third at 4:25.04.
Roan Kelly won the men’s 800 meters in 1:49.64, while William Winter joined him on the podium with a third-place finish in 1:51.15.
Kenza Elakari placed second in the women’s 800 meters in 2:07.55, marking her second consecutive podium finish in the event this season.
Kylie Bonser also earned a runner-up finish for the second straight meet, posting a time of 17:25.67 in the 5,000 meters.
In the hammer throw, Alex Hoffman finished second with a mark of 53.33m (174 feet, 11.5 inches).
