BLACKSBURG – Mike Young and the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team announced the signing of 6-foo-2 guard Ethan Copeland Friday. Copeland spent last season at Stetson where he averaged 15.0 points per game. Prior to making the jump to DI, Copeland played at Salt Lake Community College.

Copeland scored in double figures on 26 occasions and eclipsed the 20-point mark nine times, including his season-high 29 in a win over Rhodes in December. In that contest he made eight of 11 3-point attempts and had zero turnovers in 34 minutes on the floor.
The guard also recorded one double-double at Stetson and had nine games with five or more rebounds, and 14 games with multiple steals.
At Salt Lake CC in 2024-25, he started in 20 of 23 games played and averaged 15.5 points per game. That season he shot 38% from deep and 40% from the floor.
