BLACKSBURG – Following tremendous seasons, both Bree Carrico and Jordan Lynch earned a trio of All-American honors.
Lynch was a First Team All-American selection by D1 Softball and Softball America, while earning Second Team honors from the NFCA. Carrico was honored as a Third Team All-American by the NFCA and a Freshman All-American by D1 Softball and Softball America.
Leading the team with a .414 batting average, Lynch also led the Hokies in runs (70), hits (84), home runs (18) total bases (174) and slugging percentage (.808). Starting in all 60 games at third base, Lynch recorded 26 multi-hit games for the Hokies and held a team-best 16 game hit streak from Feb. 13-March 7.
A First Team All-ACC honoree for the first time in her career, Lynch hit .402 in ACC play with a team-best 35 hits and 10 home runs. She was awarded ACC Player of the Week for the first time in her career after hitting .583 with three home runs and 10 RBIs in Tech's sweep at Boston College (March 27-29). She had 12 multi-hit games over 24 ACC contests. Lynch was also a First Team All-Region Mid-Atlantic honoree.
The 2026 season for Lynch will go down as one of the best single-season performances in program history. Lynch how ranks second in program history in single-season hits (84), runs scored (70), doubles (18) and total bases (164). Her 18 home runs puts her fifth in the single-season record book.
Carrico led the Hokies with a 1.88 ERA and posted a 15-2 record over 115.2 innings pitched. The red-shirt freshman struck out 126 batters and allowed just 31 earned runs as she held opponents to a .201 average on the season. A star in relief, Carrico also led the Hokies with five saves. She was tabbed an NFCA Freshman of the Year Top 10 Finalist.
The ACC Freshman of the Year and First Team All-ACC honoree posted with a 1.93 conference ERA that ranked third among ACC pitchers. The Appomattox, Va., native also garnered D1 Softball National Freshman of the Week and ACC Freshman of the Week honors after posting a 3-0 week with victories over NC State and Longwood. The redshirt-freshman recorded 16 strikeouts over 11.0 innings and held opponents to a .029 average. She tied her career-high 10 strikeouts in the Hokies’ 14-4 win at Boston College (March 27).
At 15-2 on the season, Carrico’s .882 winning percentage is the best record in a single season in program history. Her 21 relief appearances in 2026 also broke a program record and her five saves this season ranks second in program history.
Carrico and Lynch are the fifth and sixth Hokies to be recognized as All-Americans by the NFCA since 2024.
