BLACKSBURG – Mike Young and the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team announced the signing of 6-foot-1 guard Jaylen Curry Tuesday morning. Curry, who recently finished his junior season at Oklahoma State, started seven times in 31 games, averaging 10.1 points per game.
This past season, Curry scored in double figures 19 times including a streak of seven consecutive games down the stretch. His season-high of 30 points came in a November game against Nicholls where he went 8-11 from the field and made all 12 free throw attempts. The Charlotte native also contributed 3.2 rebounds per game and 3.5 assists for the Cowboys.
He began his collegiate career at UMass where he started 25 times in 54 career games. At UMass he scored 10.5 points per game and recorded 14.2 during his sophomore season.
