Malie Follet named to IWLCA’s South Region Second Team

Shot stopper owned the third-best save percentage in the ACC this season

Northborough, Mass. – The IWLCA announced its 2026 All-Region Teams Thursday afternoon with Virginia Tech’s Malie Follet earning Second Team All-South recognition. Follet, a grad transfer won nine games in cage and made over eight saves per game, the third-best mark in the ACC.

The Fulton, New York native started all 17 games for the Hokies and posted a .442 save percentage, which was also the third-best in the ACC. Follet recorded 10 or more saves in six games in 2026, including a career-high 14 against Notre Dame at Thompson Field.

Follet and the other 127 student-athletes in Division I with a selection to one of the All-Region teams for 2026 are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-American team. The IWLCA will announce the 2026 All-American teams on May 21.
