BLACKSBURG – Four home runs propelled the No. 11/12 Hokies to a 10-5 win over Clemson in the series finale on Saturday night at Tech Softball Park.

Tech secured the series behind home runs from Nora Abromavage, Kylie Aldridge, Jordan Lynch and Annika Rohs.

How It Happened
Tech jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. After a leadoff double from Addison Foster, a hit batter and a walk loaded the bases for Michelle Chatfield, who drilled a two-RBI single up the middle. With runners on second and third, Kylie Aldridge delivered a sacrifice fly to center to score Nora Abromavage.

Clemson punched right back in the top of the second with a two-run home run, but the Hokies responded immediately in the bottom of the second. With Foster on first, Jordan Lynch launched her 12th home run of the year to extend the Hokie lead to 5-2.

In the bottom of the fourth, Annika Rohs hit her first home run of the year – a solo shot to left center – to make it a 6-2 game.

A Clemson home run and an RBI groundout cut the Clemson deficit to 6-4 in the top of the fifth, but once again the Hokies responded with a four-run bottom of the fifth. Abromavage led off the inning with a solo home run to right center. With a walk from Chatfield to put a runner on, Aldridge homered to right center to extend the lead to 9-4.

Tech’s final run of the inning came on a bases-loaded RBI single from Foster.

The Tigers added one more run in the top of the sixth, but Tech’s lead was too much for Clemson.
