BLACKSBURG – The No. 11/12 Hokies (32-5, 8-3 ACC) tied up the series against Clemson (25-14, 7-7 ACC) with a 9-1 (5) run-rule win on Friday night at Tech Softball Park.

Bree Carrico remained undefeated on the season at 10-0 with a three-hit complete game performance from the circle. Offensively, six Hokies recorded a hit, and Kylie Aldridge and Michelle Chatfield both went yard in the series-tying victory.

How It Happened
Tech scored first in the first inning as Jordan Lynch crossed home plate on a first-and-third double steal attempt. The Hokies added another run in the bottom of the second off an RBI single from Annika Rohs that scored Lily Pallante.

The Hokies took command of the game in the bottom of the third. A walk from Nora Abromavage and a single from Zoe Yaeger put runners on first and second, and Michelle Chatfield capitalized with a three-run bomb to left field to extend the lead to 5-0.

Clemson got on the board with a solo home run to left field to cut the deficit, but a four-run fifth inning propelled the Hokies to the run-rule victory. The scoring got started with a solo home run from Kylie Aldridge to make it 6-1.

Tech took advantage of three straight Clemson walks with a two-RBI double to right center from Addison Foster to put the Hokies up 8-1. Lynch followed that up with a walk, and with the bases loaded, Abromavage drew the RBI walk to secure the 9-1 run-rule win.
