Tech drops match to No. 36 Stanford

The Hokies' Court 1 doubles team found yet another win.

STANFORD, Calif. – The Hokies fall 4-0 to No. 36 Stanford on Friday afternoon. 

The match was highlighted by a doubles win from No. 45-ranked Arina Gamretkaia and Özlem Uslu over Alyssa Ahn/Caroline Driscoll, 6-3, despite the Hokies falling in the doubles point. 

Mila Mulready and Linda Ziets-Segura put up a strong early fight, but ultimately fell 6-3 to their opponents.

The Cardinal wrapped up the match with three straight-set wins in singles to secure the sweep. 

The remaining Hokies were looking to attempt a comeback as they fought from down in their respective second sets.
