A proud product of Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business, Ally graduated in May 2024 with a degree in Business Information Technology and wasted no time finding her way back to Hokie Nation. Deeply rooted in a family of Hokies, she credits Virginia Tech's unmatched community and electric athletics culture as the foundation of some of her most cherished memories, including witnessing Lane Stadium roar back to life after the pandemic. Now a young professional, Ally gives back because she believes investing in Virginia Tech Athletics is investing in the future of a program and a community that has given her so much.

Where you're at now and what you do for work?

AL: I’m currently based in Richmond, Virginia with my two dogs, Yogi & Mango. I work as a Research Consultant at CoStar Group, where I collaborate with commercial real estate professionals to ensure accurate and successful marketing of their listings.

Your major and when you graduated?

AL: I graduated in May 2024 with a degree in Business Information Technology from the Pamplin College of Business. Attending the Pamplin Career Fair, Business Horizons, ultimately led me to my current full-time role. I’m especially grateful to be a graduate of Virginia Tech coming from a family of Hokies!

Any interests outside of work or fun facts about yourself that you'd like to share?

AL: I find time to unwind with my favorite activities, needlepointing and puzzles. I love to travel anywhere warm - my favorite destinations being the beach, lake, and Disney as well as of course attending any VT game I can.

Why do you think it is important to give back to Virginia Tech Athletics?

AL: I believe giving back to Virginia Tech Athletics is important because it allows me to play a small part in supporting the future success of our teams and help ensure they have the resources to perform at their best. Beyond that, it fosters a strong sense of community and keeps me connected to my alma mater in a meaningful way.

Why did you decide to attend Virginia Tech?

AL: For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a Hokie. Beyond academics and the beautiful town of Blacksburg, what drew me in most was the sense of community and the unmatched school spirit, particularly when it comes to athletics. That environment was incredibly important to me.

How has Virginia Tech Athletics impacted you?

AL: Virginia Tech Athletics has been a huge part of some of my favorite college and post-grad memories. The atmosphere at Hokie games is truly unmatched, and it’s something that continues to bring people together, giving me a place to reconnect with friends even as life takes us in different directions after graduation.

What is your favorite Virginia Tech sports memory?

AL: As someone who began my freshman year in 2020, my favorite memory is the first game back after the pandemic. Seeing Lane Stadium packed made the experience even more special. Not to mention, it ended up being one of the best games I've attended, with an upset victory over UNC.

Why would you encourage other Virginia Tech Recent Graduates to give?

AL: I would encourage fellow Virginia Tech graduates to give back because it directly supports the future success of our programs and student-athletes. It’s also a meaningful way to stay connected to the Hokie community and continue traditions that meant so much to us.
