BLACKSBURG – No. 10 Virginia Tech (38-7, 12-5 ACC) fell to Georgia Tech (28-23, 9-11) in Game Two of the series, 6-2, on Saturday night at Tech Softball Park.

How It Happened
Georgia Tech took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second off a two-run home run. The Yellow Jackets followed it up with a solo home run in the top of the third to go up 3-0.

The Hokies got on the board in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit to 3-1. After singles from Annika Rohs and Jordan Lynch, Nora Abromavage walked to load the bases. Zoe Yaeger drew a bases-loaded walk for the first run of the game.

The game remained at 3-1 until the top of the sixth when the Yellow Jackets scored three more runs. With the bases loaded, a single that ricocheted off the ankles of Avery Layton to the left side of the infield brought two more runs home. Georgia Tech added one more run off an infield single to extend the lead to 6-1.

Tech attempted a seventh-inning rally and scored Rohs off a sacrifice fly from Abromavage, but the Hokies only saw one run cross the plate to make it a 6-2 ball game.
