Wilmington, N.C. – The Virginia Tech women’s golf team placed eighth on the last day of stroke play at the ACC Women’s Golf Championship at Porters Neck Country Club (par 72, 7,132 yards).
The Hokies remained in the middle of the pack with Valentine Delon and Xin Yao Wang leading the way. The Hokies carded a 5-under 859 (283, 297, 279) after the two days of stroke play.
The 9-under 279 on the last round of stroke play is a season-best for the Hokies.
Delon tied for 11th and led Tech with a 4-under 212 (70, 73, 69). Wang tied for 18th with 3-under 213 (73, 73, 67).
Wang's score of 67 in the last round is the best individual round by the Hokies at the ACC Championship in program history. She topped Alyssa Montgomery’s 68 at Sedgefield in 2021.
Stanford led the stroke play with a 33-under 831 (275, 278, 278).
The Hokies will await their NCAA Regional selection on Wednesday, April 29, at 5 p.m. ET on the GOLF Channel. The NCAA Regional Tournament will take place May 11-13.
