Hokie ClubCHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The Hokies concluded play at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorialon Tuesday, carding an 868 (288-291-289) for a 10th place finish. The tournament was hosted by Virginia at Birdwood Golf Course (par 71, 7,116 yards).
Ashton Harper finished at 5-under par for the Hokies (67-72-69) and tying for 10th place individually. Harper’s first round performance was the catalyst for his solid outing, going 4-under par to open the tournament.
No. 2 Virginia (277-269-267) defended home through the three-round tournament, carding a 39-under par for the team title. No. 28 William Sides for SMU (67-66-64) and No. 21 Paul Chang for Virginia (66-66-65) tied for the individual title, both carding a 16-under par.
The Hokies will head south for the ACC Championship in Panama City Beach, Fla. starting April 23rd.
