CHARLOTTE, N.C. — After a podium finish at the Raleigh Relays, Nicholas Kipchirchir has been named ACC Men’s Outdoor Track Co-Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Kipchirchir competed in the 10,000 meters at the Raleigh Relays on March 26, finishing second with a time of 28:26.94. His mark ranks No. 2 nationally and on the Division I East qualifying list and currently leads the ACC in the event.

Kipchirchir made his indoor collegiate debut in the 5,000 meters at the BU Season Opener, posting a time of 13:52.85. The performance met the ACC qualifying standard and ranks fourth on the program’s indoor all-time top-10 list.
He later won the 5,000 meters at the ASICS Sound Running Invite, recording a personal-best 13:45.08 to move to No. 3 on the program’s all-time list. Kipchirchir also contributed two points to Virginia Tech’s fourth-place finish at the 2026 ACC Indoor Championships, placing seventh in the 5,000 meters with a time of 13:52.41.
At the 2025 ACC Cross Country Championships, Kipchirchir finished second among Hokies runners, placing 114th overall in a personal-best 29:43.6. His season included a second NCAA Southeast All-Region honor (17th, 30:04.0), his first All-ACC accolade (20th, 23:18.8 for 8K) and a third-place finish at the Panorama Farms Invitational (23:17.6).
