ATLANTA – Virginia Tech drops a conference match to No. 59 Georgia Tech, 4-0, on Thursday afternoon.
Tech was able to field a full team of three doubles teams and six singles players with the addition of Kirsten Woods to the lineup following two matches playing an athlete down.
No. 51-ranked Arina Gamretkaia and Özlem Uslu took down No. 52-ranked Alejandra Cruz and Seri Nayuki, 6-3 in doubles for the top highlight of the afternoon. The Yellow Jackets took doubles courts 2 and 3 to secure the point.
Three Hokies fell in straight sets in singles competition, but Mila Mulready was up 6-2, 4-2 when the match was called.
