Hokie ClubLA QUINTA, Calif. - The Virginia Tech women's golf team finished third out of 10 teams at the Yale Invitational played at the PGA West Nicklaus Course in La Quinta, California, finishing the event at 2-over par. Pepperdine won the event at 15-under, followed by Kansas at 13-under.
The Hokies were paced by Valentine Delon and Banthita Phoncharatkun who finished tied for seventh at 3-under par. Phoncharatkun carded rounds of 69-73-71 to finish at 213, while Delon went 74-70-69 for the event to also finish at 213.
Emily Mathews tallied a top-20 finish. At 4-over par, Mathews finished in a tie for 19th on the par 72, 6,298 yard layout.
Next up for the Hokies will be the Clemson Invitational in Sunset, South Carolina on March 27.
