KENNESAW, Ga. – Tech falls short in a 4-3 match against Kennesaw State on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hokies only had five active student-athletes on the afternoon, resulting in only fielding five singles players and two doubles teams. This resulted in forfeits on Court 3 doubles and Court 6 singles.

In doubles, Tech overcame the forfeited Court 3 to take the point. Mila Mulready and Linda Ziets-Segura made quick work with a 6-1 win on Court 2. Arina Gamretkaia and Özlem Uslu followed with a 6-4 win on Court 1.

Moving into singles, Kennesaw State started with a point from the forfeit on Court 6, putting the match score even at one. The Owls quickly picked up two sweeps on Courts 2 and 3, advancing the match score to 3-1 in their favor.

Uslu found her third straight win, with a 6-4, 7-5 win over her opponent. Elizaveta Castillo matched her score, also winning 6-4, 7-5 on Court 4 to tie the match at three apiece.

The deciding match came down to Ziets-Segura on Court 5, but she ultimately fell in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.
