BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech captured its fourth home victory of the season Tuesday afternoon, defeating Queens 20-10 in a non-conference matchup.

Queens attacked quickly, slipping their first goal of the game past goalie Malie Follet just 58 seconds into play. The teams traded goals throughout the remainder of the first quarter, with the Royals leading 5-4 going into the second.

The Hokies responded with energy to open the next frame, scoring three unanswered goals. Tech carried that lead into the halftime break, holding a close two-goal advantage, 8-6.

Early in the second half, Queens managed to find their footing and sneak in their seventh goal of the game. In response, defender Zoee Stencil capitalized on a fast break, scoring her first career goal to extend the Tech lead to 9-7.

Virginia Tech pulled away in the final 15 minutes, erupting for nine goals in dominant fashion to secure their fourth home victory and to remain undefeated against non-conference opponents at home in the 2026 season.

Junior attacker Cassandra Montgomery led the Hokies with four goals. Sarah Murrell, Mia Pozzi, Lauren Render, and Reese Wallich each recorded hat tricks, while Sophia Trahan added two goals. Kamryn Henson and Zoee Stencil also scored.

Pozzi also matched her career-high in draw controls, with 15.
