PALM CITY, Fla. – Emily Mathews and the Virginia Tech women’s golf team claimed victory at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate, which concluded Tuesday at Hammock Creek Golf Club (par 72, 6,143 yards).
Tech led wire-to-wire at the event, finishing with at 4-over par (300-286-282).
Tech found success in this tournament last year, placing first with a total of 22-under 842 (275-284-283).
Emily Mathews placed first with an even par at 216 (76-70-70). Savannah Dupre finishes behind Mathews for second with a 1-over 217 (72-72-73). Xin Yao Wang tied for fifth with a 3-over 219 (77-72-70) alongside teammate Valentine Delon (77-73-69). Pearl Phoncharatkun finishes in eighth with a 4-over 220 (75-72-73)
UNC Greensboro tied for second in the team standings at 35-over (308-299-292) , with Lipscomb at 35-over (307-306-286).
The Hokies are back in action Feb. 20-22 at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational. Mercer University will host at Reynolds Plantation at Great Waters in Eatonton, Ga.
