Tech drops heartbreaker to ETSU

Despite taking the doubles point, the Hokies struggled in singles

BLACKSBURG – The Hokies fall to ETSU, 4-3, at home on Sunday morning. 

Arina Gamretkaia and Özlem Uslu picked up the first Hokies doubles win, 6-3. The doubles point came down to Mila Mulready and Linda Ziets-Segura on Court 2, as they pulled out a 7-6(5) win. 

In singles, Elizaveta Castillo found the first point for Tech with a 7-5, 6-4 sweep over Niyati Kukreti. Uslu also found a win, defeating Ksenija Rage, 7-6(4), 6-1. 

The other four Tech players fell in three sets in their respective singles matches to give ETSU the match.
