Hokie ClubCHARLOTTE, N.C. – The ACC tabbed Brendan Whitfield and Carmen Weiler Sastre as Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week. This honor marks Whitfield’s second of the season, and the first for Weiler Sastre.
Whitfield dominated against Queens, capturing three individual first-place finishes. The freestyler logged top finishes in the 50 free (19.37), 100 free (42.92) and 200 free (1:43.85)
Weiler Sastre was equally successful on the women’s side, posting first-place finishes in the 100 back (52.21) and 200 back (1:54.38). She also played a key role in first-place finishes for the 400 medley relay and 200 free relay squads.
The pair will return to action this Saturday, Jan. 10, as the Hokies travel to Columbia, S.C., to take on the University of South Carolina.
