Hokies claim two event wins at Brant Tolsma Elite Invitational

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Katrin Brzyskowska and Kelsey Lovercheck each earned an event victory for Virginia Tech on Friday at the Brant Tolsma Elite Invitational, hosted by Liberty University.

Brzyskowska recorded her third shot put win of the season with a throw of 15.92 meters (52’ 2.75”). 

Lovercheck secured her first career event win in the pole vault, clearing a season-best 3.79 meters (12' 5.25") as the lower-seeded competitor.

In men’s competition, Layne Studer finished second in the pole vault with a clearance of 5.18 meters (17'), competing unattached. Jack Helmich placed seventh after clearing 4.88 meters (16').
