Virginia Tech women’s soccer adds transfer signee Lilli Lubic for the 2026 season. Lubic, a native of Ashburn, Va., joins the Hokies after her freshman season at the University of Delaware. She was the only freshman named to the All-CUSA First Team this season and was named to the All-CUSA Freshmen Team. Lubic was tied for the team lead in goals with five and tied for third on the team in assists. She scored three game-winning goals this season, accumulating 13 points.

“We’re excited to add Lilli Lubic to our program,” head coach Chugger Adair said. “We’ve seen her over the years for a number of years through the recruiting process. We’re excited that she’s finally a Hokie and that we get her in the end to be a part of our program. She’s crafty, dynamic, technical, and versatile in the midfield, so she can help us in possession, she can help us score goals, and she can add some creativity and flair to our midfield.”

Why did you choose Virginia Tech? I chose Virginia Tech because I know it will give me the opportunity to grow not only as a soccer player but as a person. Being from Virginia, I’ve watched the Hokies for years and have always been a fan. From attending their ID camps when I was younger, I always felt the competitive environment the coaches set and the family‑like atmosphere within the team, and that feeling never left.

What was your favorite thing about your visit? Getting to meet some of my freshman class and learning about all the resources and support that the student athletes have to develop their game and improve on and off the field.

What excites you the most about being part of Virginia Tech women’s soccer? Being a part of the team and playing with some former club teammates, as well as the opportunity to grow and get better under the coaching staff, and to compete at a high level!

What are your soccer strengths? Some of my best strengths are my creativity, ability to control the game, and passing ability with both feet.

Who is your favorite pro player and why? Luka Modrić. I admire his game intelligence, vision, and ability to control the game. As a Croatian, watching him lead Croatia in the World Cup is something I’ll always remember.

What do you plan on majoring in? National Security and Foreign Affairs

What is one thing you want Virginia Tech fans to know about you? I love Chipotle, and my go-to bowl is extra white rice, chicken, pico, sometimes corn, and honey vinaigrette.
