BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech forward Tobi Lawal announced on his Instagram this afternoon he will be entering the 2025 NBA Draft process while maintaining his college eligibility.

In a heartfelt message to Hokie Nation, Lawal stated, "First and foremost, I want to thank God for putting me in this position and guiding me on this journey. ... If I decide to return to college, I will be playing my final season in Blacksburg and proudly wearing the maroon and orange. Virginia Tech is home, and Hokie Nation is family."

With this decision, Lawal will get an NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee evaluation and be able to participate in the NBA G League Combine in Chicago, Ill. (May 9-11) and the NBA Draft Combine, also in Chicago (May 11-18).

In his first season in Blacksburg, Lawal started in all 30 games he played and led Tech in points (372), field goals made (128), free throws made (93), rebounds (210), blocks (20) and double-doubles (six). The London, England native scored in double figures 20 times, including going for 20 or more in four games. He averaged 12.4 points and 7.0 rebounds as a junior.

May 28 is the last day for college basketball players to remove their name from the NBA Draft and maintain their college eligibility.
