LEXINGTON, Ky. – Virginia Tech's Benjamin Baker carded his first collegiate top-20 to lead the Hokies at the Cullan Brown Collegiate, which concluded Tuesday at Lexington Country Club (par 71, 7,255 yards).
The original 54-hole tournament was cut to 36 due to weather conditions.
Tech carded a 573 (284-289) to tie for eighth. The Hokies were led by Baker, who tied for 14th at 1-under 141 (70-71). Rahul Rajendran tied for 33rd at 143 (72-71).
Mississippi State took home the team title with an 11-under 557 (275-282), led by Ugo Malcor's 5-under 137 (67-70), which tied for second.
Kentucky’s Cole Stockard took home the individual title, boasting a score of 6-under 136 (66-70).
The Hokies will continue fall play in two weeks, when they compete in the Furman Intercollegiate. Furman University Golf Club will host the two-day event in Greenville, S.C., beginning Oct. 18.
