Kyron Drones passes to Takye Heath on a quick slant and the Hokies are in the end zone again – Heath's first career touchdown. A 9-yard strike gives Virginia Tech the lead back at 14-10.

Hokies get a 3-yard touchdown run by Marcellous Hawkins, who powers his way in, pushing Virginia Tech up to 7-3 at 2:30 left in the first quarter.
