CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The ACC tabbed Brendan Whitfield as Swimmer of the Week following his stellar performance against Duke.
Whitfield logged first-place finishes in the 100 free (41.79) and 200 free (1:33.79), posting NCAA cut times in each race. Whitfield sits at third in the nation for the 100 free and 15th nationally and the 200 free. His leadoff 50 free (19.10) in the 200 free relay ranks him fourth nationally.
This marks the first ACC weekly honor of Whitfield’s career, coming in his second year in the program. At the 2025 ACC Championships, he brought home bronze in the 100 free and First-Team All-ACC honors in the 50 free.
Whitfield and Virginia Tech swimming and diving will travel to Raleigh (Nov. 7-8) to take on NC State and Ohio State at the Raleigh Rumble.
