CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Forward Declan Quill was named the ACC Men’s Soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
In crunch time, the fifth-year senior carried the Hokies offense with a second half hat-trick to erase the two-goal deficit against Cal and earn Tech their second ACC victory of the season. It was the first hat-trick of his career. Additionally, it was the first time in program history that two hat-tricks have been scored in the same season following Dagur Traustason's three-goal game on Oct. 7 versus Longwood.
Virginia Tech won both their contests last week including a 2-0 victory over Winthrop where Quill added an assist.
The Hokies, who have four wins in their last five matches, will make their way down to Clemson for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Friday, Oct. 31 in a pivotal regular season finale. That match can be seen on ACC Network Extra.
