LOXLEY, Ala. – The Virginia Tech men's golf team concluded fall play at Steelwood Country Club (par 72, 7,096 yards), tying for 12th place. The tournament ended early at two rounds due to weather in the area, erasing a promising final round by the Hokies.
Tech carded a 10-over 576 (288-298) as a team, led by Benjamin Baker’s 145 (72-73). Gareth Steyn (71-76) and Ashton Harper (72-75) both finished at 3-over 147.
Texas A&M won the team title with a 10-under 566 (287-279), shooting 9-under in the second round of play. The Aggies were led by Aaron Pounds, who carded a 5-under 139 (70-69).
Play for the Hokies resumes Feb. 8-10 at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate in Humacao, Puerto Rico.
