Newark, Del. - The Virginia Tech volleyball team got back into the win column Friday with two straight set victories, first over Hampton in the afternoon and then in the evening winning 3-0 against the hosts, the University of Delaware.
With the results, the Hokies move to 4-1 on the young season.
Against Hampton, the Hokies were led by Payton Woods’ 12 kills. Setter Camilla Brandalise recorded 21 assists, to date the most on the season by a Tech athlete.
Aisha Keric was also a significant contributor with four blocks and nine digs.
In the second match of the day, Ainsley Ranstead was in double figures with 11 kills, joining Woods who had another 11. Reese Hazelton registered 10 digs against the Blue Hens.
