Hokies set to compete in ITA All American Championships

CARY, N.C. – Virginia Tech’s Arina Gamretkaia and Özlem Uslu are set to compete in the main draw of the ITA Women’s All-American Championship (Sept. 24-28) at the Cary Tennis Park.

Ahead of the ITA Women’s All-American Championship, Gamretkaia & Uslu are the first doubles pair in Tech history to be ranked in the Top 20 of the ITA poll at the time of ITA All-Americans. 

Uslu is also the first Hokie to play in both main draw singles and doubles.

Below are the prequalifying rounds for the ITA Women’s All-American Championship. Laima Frosch and Mila Mulready also competed for the Hokies in the prequalifying round.

• Letizia Corsini (TCU) def. Laima Frosch, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2
• Jermine Sherif (Washington) def. Arina Gamretkaia, 6-1, 6-4
Mila Mulready def. Klara Milicevic (Alabama) 6-2, 6-2

Round of 128
• Aely Arai (Miami) def. Mulready 6-3, 6-4

C-Round of 128
• Frosch def. Maeve Thornton (Tennessee) 6-1, 6-1
• Kinaa Graham (LSU) def. Gamretkaia 6-4, 6-4
