WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Hokies dropped their third ACC match of the season, 2-1, to No. 16 Wake Forest on Thursday evening.

Natalie Mitchell scored her fourth goal of the season in the loss.

How It Happened
Natalie Mitchell started Tech off early with a goal in the seventh minute. Hannah Pachan’s corner kick service was deflected out to the top of the box, where Mitchell ran onto the bouncing ball, hitting a low-driven strike into the bottom corner.

Wake Forest responded seven minutes later off a corner kick that was poked past Lauren Hargrove. After the kickoff, the Demon Deacons found their second of the night as they were able to play through Tech’s defense for a 1-on-1 with Hargrove.

Tech dominated the second half, outshooting Wake Forest 8-2, but was unable to find the back of the net.
