BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech wrestling head coach Tony Robie announced the 2025-2026 schedule on Wednesday, September 10, featuring two marquee events in Cassell Coliseum against the preseason No. 3 Oklahoma State Cowboys and hosting the 2026 ACC Championships.
Known for compiling one of the most competitive schedules in the country, the Hokies will once again be battle tested throughout the course of the season culminating in Cleveland, OH for the 2026 Division 1 NCAA Championships. Featured in Tech’s schedule is the inaugural 2025 National Duals Invitational which will see a field of 16 of the nation’s top teams in a bracket battling in Tulsa, OK.
Ranked top ten in preseason polls, the defending ACC champions enter the season with one NCAA champion, two returning All-Americans, three conference champions, and eight NCAA qualifiers. The revamped Hokies welcome the highly credentialed No. 4 ranked 2025 recruiting class and three transfers while returning four starters from the 2024-2025 campaign including NCAA champion, two-time NCAA finalist, two-time ACC champion, and three-time All-American Caleb Henson plus ACC champion and two-time All-American Eddie Ventresca.
After an eleventh-place performance at the 2025 NCAA Championships – the ninth time in the last eleven seasons the Hokies have finished in the top-11 – Tech is ready for another formidable season starting the first two weekends at home with the Southeast Open on November 2 at Roanoke College then face Bucknell for just the third meeting between the two on November 7 for the Hokies’ home opener in Cassell Coliseum.
Tech then hits the road for six straight competitions starting with the aforementioned National Duals Invitational at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK from November 15-16 then the Keystone Classic the following weekend in Philadelphia, PA on November 23. The Hokies have a date saved out west at the always tough Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational from December 5-6 along with a group to be sent to George Mason for the Patriot Open on December 7 to close out competition in 2025.
Coming off winter break to ring in 2026, the Hokies will head to Chattanooga for the Southern Scuffle on January 3-4 before traveling to Pittsburgh the next weekend on January 9 against the Panthers in the first dose of conference competition.
Tech returns home to host back-to-back weekends against the App St Mountaineers in college wrestling’s most unique experiences, the annual Moss Arts Center on January 16, and welcome west coast conference foe Stanford Cardinal to Cassell on January 23.
The first leg of one of the last two road ACC opponents will see the Hokies travel to the hostile den of bitter rival NC State Wolfpack. The conference’s premiere contest and one of the nation’s best meetings year in and year out, The Rivalry will once again look to live up to the billing on January 30 in Raleigh, NC.
The following weekend, Tech travels to Charlottesville against Virginia for the Commonwealth Clash in the last road dual of the season. The Hokies will look for their 14th-straight victory over their in-state foes on February 6.
Finishing off the dual schedule in fashion with three home matches, Tech will look to avenge their only dual losses from last season – North Carolina and Oklahoma State. In the first dual of a weekend double in Cassell Coliseum the Hokies take on the Tarheels on Friday, February 13 and the 2025 NCAA Championships’ third-place finishers, the OSU Cowboys on Sunday, February 15.
Tech will close out dual meet competition against the Duke Blue Devils on February 20 in Cassell Coliseum. A busy weekend continues as the Hokies have the option to send a contingent north to George Mason for the Patriot Last Chance Open on February 22.
In what will be the first time since 2019, Blacksburg will host the 2026 ACC Championships. With four of the seven ACC teams ranked in the top 25 according to preseason polls, the 2025 league champions will look to defend their title against a formidable Atlantic Coast Conference field at home in Cassell Coliseum on Sunday, March 8.
Looking to extend their streak of three or more All-America honors to 13 straight seasons and finish in the top 10 for the ninth time in 12 seasons, Tech returns to The Land for the greatest tournament – the NCAA Championships. The Hokies will finish the 2025-2026 season in Cleveland, OH at Rocket Arena for the 2026 Division 1 NCAA Championships from March 19-21.
