LYNCHBURG, Va. – The No. 24 Hokies battled to a 1-1 draw with the Liberty Flames on Thursday evening.

Anna Weir scored her second goal of the season as the Hokies’ sole goal of the game.

How It Happened
The first half presented a back-and-forth tempo with both teams creating chances on goal. The Flames outshot the Hokies seven to two, but the Hokies capitalized in the 27th minute.

Building from the back, Taylor Price laid the ball off to Natalie Mitchell in the midfield. Mitchell found Hannah Pachan on the outside, splitting the defense. Pachan drove into the box before squaring the ball back to Anna Weir at the penalty spot, who hit it sweetly, one-time past the goalkeeper.

The first half ended 1-0 to Tech. The second half consisted of even opportunities from both teams, with little success finishing. Liberty found its goal late in the 86th minute to draw even.
