BLACKSBURG – No. 15 Tech fell 2-1 to Georgetown on Sunday afternoon.

Eliana Salama scored her third goal in as many games in the loss.

How It Happened
The first half opened in a back-and-forth fashion, with no team taking control of the match. The breakthrough came for the Hoyas in the 28th minute off a corner kick. This marked the first time this season that the Hokies have trailed an opponent.

Tech came out ready to equalize in the second half, putting up 11 shots compared to five in the first half. It paid off for the Hokies as Eliana Salama found the equalizer for Tech in the 59th minute. Ellie Robertson played the ball from the half-line to Natalie Mitchell, who was dispossessed, but the ball landed at the feet of Hannah Pachan. Pachan fed Salama through the Hoyas’ defense, and Salama finished over the head of the keeper.

Georgetown found the game-winning goal off a corner kick in the 67th minute. Despite strong chances from the Hokies throughout the second half, nothing was able to find the back of the net.
