HIGH POINT, N.C. – The No. 14 Hokies start the season 1-0 after a Taylor Price brace in the second half secured a 2-0 win over the High Point Panthers on Thursday night.
In her first game back from an injury last season, Price recorded the second brace of her career. She scored both in quick succession, with only three minutes between the two.
How It Happened
The first half was a tight contest, with both teams deadlocked at zero through 45 minutes. The Hokies created chances but were unable to finish.
The Hokies came alive in the second half with 18 shots, forcing 11 saves from the Panthers’ keeper. The breakthrough came off a hustle play from Taylor Price, as she continued on a live ball not gathered by the keeper after a long-range shot from Madi Boutot.
