Six Hokies earn women's tennis All-ACC Academic Team honors

Semra Aksu named to her fourth All-ACC Academic team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Six Hokies were named to the 2025 All-ACC Academic Team, the league announced on Monday. 

Semra Aksu, a senior who graduated in May with a degree in Business Information Technology, earned her fourth honor. Aksu was named to the All-ACC Academic Team for all four of her years at Virginia Tech. 

Charlotte Cartledge, another senior who graduated in May with a degree in Management Consulting and Analytics, earned honors for the third time during her years as a Hokie. 

Seniors Arina Gamretkaia, who is studying economics, and Tara Gorinsek, who is studying finance, made the team in their first season playing for the Hokies. Two freshmen, Mila Mulready, studying marketing management, and Linda Ziets-Segura, studying exercise and health sciences, also made the team in their first year at Virginia Tech. 

Nominees were required to have at least a 3.0 grade point average in the previous semester as well as a 3.0 cumulative grade point average throughout their academic career. The student-athletes were also required to compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests during the season.
