BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head coach Chugger Adair released the Hokies’ 2025 schedule on Monday, July 21, outlining a highly competitive slate.
Following the Hokies’ run to the Elite Eight, the 2025 schedule features conference matchups with all four 2024 College Cup finalists.
Tech will begin its season on the road with two exhibition matches, at UNC-Greensboro (Aug. 3) and Vanderbilt, to be played at Maryville College (Aug. 9).
The first regular-season match takes place Aug. 14 at High Point.
The action in Blacksburg kicks off Aug. 17 as the Hokies host VCU, starting a three-match stretch at Thompson Field. This is the Hokies’ first match against the Rams since 2015, when they won 3-0 in Richmond. This stretch includes two doubleheaders with the men’s team, with matches against Clemson (Aug. 21) and Georgetown (Aug. 24).
The nonconference schedule continues with a three-match road trip to in-state rival Liberty, before heading to Campbell and lastly Old Dominion. Rounding off nonconference play, Tech faces William & Mary (Sept. 7) at home before opening ACC action.
In their first ACC match of the season, Tech hosts a rematch of the first round of the 2024 ACC Championship with the reigning national champions, North Carolina (Sept. 11). This is North Carolina's first visit to Thompson Field since 2022, when the Hokies picked up their third all-time win over the Tar Heels.
Continuing ACC action, Tech travels to Louisville (Sept. 14) and Wake Forest (Sept. 18). Following a single match at home against NC State (Sept. 27), the Hokies return to the road for the Commonwealth Clash in Charlottesville on Oct. 4, before heading out west.
Out in California, Tech starts their visit with a match against Stanford (Oct. 9). This marks only the second meeting between the Hokies and the Cardinal, with the first coming in 2009 in the UNC-Greensboro Tournament. After their stop at Stanford, they play Cal (Oct. 12) in the programs’ first-ever meeting.
The Hokies finish up the 2025 regular season with a three-match homestand, starting with Duke (Oct. 18) in a rematch of the 2024 Elite Eight. Tech wraps up the regular season with Notre Dame (Oct. 23) and Miami (Oct. 30), as they compete for one of six spots in the 2025 ACC Women’s Soccer Championship in Cary, N.C.
All kickoff times are displayed in Eastern and are subject to change. Broadcast and streaming information will be released at a later date. Regular season admission to Thompson Field is free to all fans.
