Hokies duo selected for CSC Academic All-America honor

The College Sport Communicators selected Ben Conacher and Lindsey Butler for the Academic All-America honor.

GREENWOOD, Ind. - The College Sport Communicators (CSC) announced the 2025 Academic All-America honorees on Tuesday afternoon. Ben Conacher and Lindsey Butler were both selected for the honor.

Ben Conacher collected CSC Academic All-America First Team honors after a standout season where he finished fourth overall in the pole vault at the NCAA Outdoor Championships for First Team All-American honors.  Conacher reached a personal-best of 5.61m (18'4.75") at the Big Orange Invitational, earned indoor and outdoor All-ACC honors and cleared 5.58m (18'3.75") at outdoor nationals.  Conacher maintained a 4.0 GPA in biochemistry while competing for Baylor and has continued his academic success with a 4.0 in the genetics, bioinformatics and computational biology PhD program at Virginia Tech.

Lindsey Butler was selected for CSC Academic All-America Second Team honors after her final season of collegiate track & field.  In 2025, Butler collected her seventh NCAA All-American honor after finishing seventh overall in the 1500m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.  Butler also collected All-ACC honors in the 800m and posted season-best results of 4:09.88 in the 1500m and 2:02.10 in the 800m.   Butler graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor's degree in industrial systems engineering and a master's in information technology.
