BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech head football coach Brent Pry has announced Jeffrey Eaton will be joining the program as associate director of strength and conditioning. Eaton has spent time in the Pac-12, Big Ten, Big 12, and the ACC.

Jeffrey’s energy and passion will be a perfect fit as we continue to build a team rooted in toughness and discipline.”
Eaton arrives in Blacksburg after spending the previous three seasons (2022-24) as assistant strength and conditioning coordinator/internship coordinator for football at the University of Miami.
Eaton served three seasons (2019-21) with the Oregon strength & conditioning program. He joined the Ducks’ program as an assistant strength & conditioning coach in January 2019 and helped guide the team to three straight appearances in the Pac-12 Championship Game, including back-to-back conference titles. During his time in Eugene, Eaton and the Ducks were Rose Bowl Champions (2020), and also appeared in the Fiesta Bowl, and Alamo Bowl.
Prior to his time with the Ducks, Eaton was the assistant director of football strength & conditioning at Purdue from June 2017 through the end of the 2019 football season, helping the Boilermakers to back-to-back bowl games. Eaton also spent two seasons (2015-2016) at UNLV as the assistant director of football strength & conditioning.
Other stops for Eaton include time spent in the strength & conditioning programs at Morgan State (2014), Baylor (2011), San Diego State (2009-2010) and Penn State (2005-2006). He holds a certification through the CSCCa (Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Association) and is a certified Level I Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting. His other certifications include FRCms (Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist), Altis Level 1 Speed Coach, and QPR (Suicide Prevention).
A Reading, Pennsylvania native, Eaton graduated from Lock Haven University, where he played defensive line for the Bald Eagles, earning his bachelor’s degree in 2009. Eaton and his wife, Beth, have a daughter, Eva, and a son, Titus.
