Virginia Tech women’s soccer has signed Letizia Rossi to the 2025 recruiting class. Rossi, an attacking midfielder from Monza, Italy, played club soccer with AC Milan. She became the first female player signed to the club in 2015. During her time there, she won three national championships with the youth teams. Rossi has played with the Italian youth national teams, most recently captaining the U17 side.

“We’re extremely excited to add Letizia to the women’s soccer program here at Virginia Tech,” head coach Chugger Adair said. “She has proven to be an impact on the offensive side during her time at AC Milan and her youth days in Italy. She’s technical, dynamic, crafty and can find the back of the net. We’re looking forward to her joining the program. In addition, we’ve been able to have great communication and relationship building with her during the process and we think she’ll be a perfect fit for our program.”

Why did you choose Virginia Tech? I chose Virginia Tech because I'm interested in studying both architecture and civil engineering. They have excellent programs for these fields with a strong academic reputation. Additionally, Virginia Tech is highly competitive in the ACC, which is fantastic for someone like me who loves sports. I'm excited to be part of such a robust academic and athletic community!

What was your favorite thing about your visit? I didn't have the chance to visit in person, but through virtual tours, I felt connected to the campus. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, and I was impressed by the beautiful campus, along with the enthusiasm of the people I spoke with. It truly felt like a place where I could see myself thriving.

What excites you the most about being part of Virginia Tech women’s soccer? I'm most excited about the chance to compete at a high level and be part of a team that values hard work, dedication, and teamwork. Having spent twelve years playing soccer in Italy, I'm eager to experience a different approach to the game here and contribute to the success of the Virginia Tech women’s soccer team. Learning from experienced coaches and talented teammates is something I'm looking forward to.

What are your soccer strengths? One of my strengths on the soccer field is my versatility. I can play effectively as a winger on both sides due to my ambidextrous control. Additionally, my speed and dribbling skills allow me to create scoring opportunities and support my teammates in various positions.

Who is your favorite pro player and why? My favorite professional player is Neymar Jr. because of his incredible skill set and creativity on the field. His ability to entertain and inspire through his style of play is something I admire greatly. He embodies the joy and artistry of soccer, which resonates with my passion for the game.

What do you plan on majoring in? I plan on majoring in Architecture or Civil Engineering. I have a strong interest in design and creativity, and I believe that studying one of them will allow me to combine my passion for art with practical skills to create innovative and sustainable solutions.

What is one thing you want Virginia Tech fans to know about you? In 2015, I became the first player to join the AC Milan women's youth team as part of an initiative to promote women's soccer in Italy, sponsored by UEFA and FIGC. This experience has been pivotal in my life and continues to fuel my passion for this sport.
