Pozzi collects nine draw controls versus No. 15 Clemson

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech lacrosse fell to No. 15 Clemson on Saturday afternoon, 6-18.  The Hokies move to 7-7 (2-5 ACC) and the Tigers advance to 11-4 (5-2 ACC).

Offensive leaders for Tech were Lauren Render and Mia Pozzi with two goals apiece while Ally Phalines and Emma Rowland each contributed one.  Render has now accumulated 36 goals in the 2025 season and Pozzi reached 29 in the contest. Two Hokies contributed to the point total with an assist each, Phalines and Grace New, for Phalines' first assist of the season and New's second.

The dominate force in the draw circle for the Hokies was Pozzi with nine controls, a career-high.  She moves to 32 on the season.

Four Hokies contributed to the defensive efforts outside of the crease.  Zoee Stencil tied the game-high of two caused turnovers and Maura O'Malley, Jess Kent and Elizabeth Labbe earned one apiece.

Aaliyah Jones tallied nine saves against the No. 15 Tigers, including five in the third quarter to limit the scoring to 4-2.

Stencil and Caroline Little both tied the game-high ground ball total of four, with Little tying her career-high and Stencil surpassing her previous.

Virginia Tech outpaced Clemson 18-10 in draw controls and 9-6 in saves.
