Lauren Render, Mia Pozzi earn All-ACC recognition Tuesday

Duo are Tech’s top scorer, assist leader

CHARLOTTE – The Virginia Tech lacrosse program placed two athletes on the ACC’s All-Conference teams, the league office announced Tuesday. Junior attacker Lauren Render earned second team honors, while sophomore midfielder Mia Pozzi was recognized on the third team.

Render, who won ACC Offensive Player of the Week last week is the Hokies’ leading scorer with 52 goals this season, one of 10 women in program history to score 50 or more in a single season. She ranks fifth in the ACC in goals and owns 58 total points. The Powder Springs, Georgia native has scored seven hat tricks this season, including an eight-goal effort at Queens in February.

Pozzi, just a sophomore is the team’s leader in assists with 16 and has also tallied 37 goals, to rank second on the squad behind Render. She has also spent time on the draw team, both taking the draw and, on the circle, and has recorded the most draws on the team with 45. She owns five hat tricks in 2025 and has registered five games with multiple assists. Pozzi had eight points (six goals, two assists) at Elon in February.

The Hokies, who are the eight seed will take on the one seed and top-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship at 11 a.m. at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network.
