The Atlantic Coast Conference released the seeding for the ACC Championship Saturday night. Virginia Tech (10-14, 2-11 ACC) lands the No. 12 seed, facing off against No. 13 SMU on Wednesday, April 16 at 3:30 p.m. at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
The Hokies and Mustangs sit at a similar spot in the ITA rankings, with Tech at No. 68 and SMU at No. 66. The Mustangs finished off their season with a 14-18 record, posting the same conference record as Tech, going 2-11.
Virginia Tech and Southern Methodist met in the regular season on Friday, March 14 in Dallas. The Mustangs picked up a 4-0 win over the Hokies. The other sole ACC win for the Mustangs was in their final match of the regular season, winning 4-0 against Boston College.
The Hokies closed out their final home match of the season with an upset victory over ACC opponent Georgia Tech, 5-2. In their regular season finale in Charlottesville, they dropped 4-0 to UVA.
