BLACKSBURG - The Virginia Tech lacrosse team earned a massive victory over No. 11 Syracuse Saturday in the 2025 finale on Thompson Field. The win, Tech's first over a ranked squad this season was also the highest ranked opponent that the Hokies have beaten under Kristen Skiera.

Tech got on the board early through attacker Lauren Render four minutes into the game and then grabbed the lead again with her second goal a few minutes later as the Hokies built a lead they would not relinquish. 

The Hokies scored in the final minute off all four quarters, including dramatic goals with eight seconds left in the first and second frames. 

Render, poured in seven goals, her third time this season recording seven or more. Her running mate in the attack Mia Pozzi also showed out, scoring four goals and also coralling six draw controls.

In goal, Aaliyah Jones recorded 13 saves , her sixth time in 2025 tallying 10 or more.

The Hokies will close the regular season at rival Virginia on Wednesday, April 16 at 7 p.m. on ACC Network.
